I have personal experience of having difficulties knowing what to do with a vehicle at the end of a trip. I have always found it to be a nightmare, and the most expensive part of my trip. After spending months sleeping in a tent, then having to pay thousands to ship the vehicle back! Also sending out emails to numerous shipping companies asking for prices- only getting back a couple of answers! All of this just to retrieve a deposit on your carnet, usually with the added pressure of having a flight home in the very near future, and the impending doom of the end of your adventure!
To help alleviate these worries, we have worked very hard to bring you a service that is un-comparable, cost effective, planned from start to finish and hassle free for you. We believe you won't find a cheaper more inclusive service than ours. You are able to keep your vehicle until the last day of your trip, track where your vehicle is on its return and have an agent ready to hand the vehicle to you when it arrives at a port of your choice.
We also run a container sharing service to Cape Town, so if in the future you wish to send your vehicle to Cape Town, it is below 2.56 meters in height please send us an email and hopefully we can put you together with somebody else giving you a 25% reduction in prices. We always say to send your vehicle 60 days before you wish to arrive, and offer free vehicle storage for a month to those using this service.
For 4x4's, trucks and everything with 4 or more wheels we can offer a containerised service or Ro-Ro.
Containerised
We have a deal with several large shipping companies for containerised shipping (saving you agency fees), shipping every week to Europe, making sure you are not double charged for services. We have a few more savings to offer as well. The great news is that you will be able to use your vehicle until the last day of your trip instead of spending the last week running around different offices! Finally- the entire process is transparent. We charge a set amount, the bills of export, shipping and import are sent directly to you so you can see the exact amount you have to pay.
To give you an idea of pricing: total price = the port taxes in Cape Town + the shipping + the port taxes in destination + our fee.

Ro-Ro
Ro-Ro leaves from Port Elizabeth; from PE it’s a direct route into Europe. Security is always a major factor as you have to leave your keys with the vehicle to be loaded onto the ship (but if your valuables can be secured then it will work out slightly cheaper). We have agents in both ports and can also send vehicles to the USA or Australia.
Cost is very much is determined by size so we will need to know the length, height and width to work out a price.

Motorbike
Motorbike shipping can be a hassle due to the packing of the bike. We can provide you with a box free of charge; this is then measured to make the quote (3 cubic meters). The bike is shipped in a shared container. As with the vehicles we charge a set fee for our work and all other bills are sent to you directly for payment by you.
1 motorbike to Europe is at present about ZAR12,000 total.

Import
We can also import your vehicle so you want to do the Cape Town back to Europe route we can collect and hold your vehicle until you arrive. If we arrange for your vehicle to share with another, this could save you up to 25% or over US$1000

Shared Import
A new service we are operating is to have a shared service coming from Rotterdam and tilbury each year. You will need to book into the container well in advance; the container will leave Europe at the end of August arriving in South Africa at the beginning of October or the beginning of the summer season. We will import the vehicles and store them until you arrive. The bikes then can be used for as long as you wish in Southern Africa before returning them to the same port on the return trip a year or two later. To give you some ideas of prices (please remember the container needs to be full to get this kind of price), a 40ft container with 1 4x4 will cost US$3000, and 6 bikes will cost US$900 each. This is a total price on a carnet de passage. Bikes will need to be delivered secured to a crate for the shipping. IMPORTANT
Quotes are dependent on oil surcharges and exchange rates, so only last a short while. We are happy to give you a quote, but the exact figure doesn't come out until the ship is docked and the exchange rate is set. Prices rise and fall about US$20. We don't add this potential extra money on, so as to offer you the lowest quote possible.
Please remember that you must have your vehicle down to as low as possible on the fuel, no more than 1/8 of a tank (otherwise it becomes dangerous cargo). Motorbikes must be even lower (needs to have the reserve light on or be on reserve tank) and the battery disconnected. I may also need to remove the front wheel.
Do not fill the vehicle with boxes of goods (eg wine), customs will want to charge you for the privilege
